Nutrimite™ by Biobest: Optimizing Biocontrol with Predatory Mite Feeding
Growers can significantly enhance their Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies by utilizing Nutrimite™, a supplementary food source from Biobest. By feeding predatory mites when pest populations are low, this nutrient-rich pollen ensures robust establishment and survival, guaranteeing that your biocontrol agents are ready to work when needed most.
Are you feeding your predatory mites? If not, you are likely to be missing a trick.

Growers worldwide are using Nutrimite™ to improve the establishment, survival, and effectiveness of predatory mites – especially when pest levels are low. Our highly nutritious supplementary food is a proven, cost-effective way to enhance and accelerate mite establishment while maintaining strong populations to optimise control.
Predatory mites rely on pest mites or pollen as food. When these are scarce – early in the season or after pest suppression – Nutrimite™ is there to fill the gap, keeping hungry mites active and effective.
Made from specially selected, nutrient-rich pollen, it delivers excellent results with our Degenerans-System and Swirskii-System, while also enhancing Andersoni-System, Californicus-System and Amblyseius-System.
When to use
We recommend applying Nutrimite™ during propagation, greenhouse crop establishment, or in short-cycle crops to strengthen mite populations. It’s especially valuable in long-term crops facing food gaps and in ornamentals such as Chrysanthemum, Poinsettia, Ficus, and Calathea – where mites can be harder to establish.
Easy to use
Staying fresh for up to two weeks, Nutrimite™ resists mould and is simple to apply.
- Rate: minimum of 3 applications of 500 g/ha every 2 weeks
- Supplied: 500g bottles (store frozen and thaw before use)
- Application: Blow into crops within 2 days of thawing, using our Entomatic™ Handheld or Makita adaptor
Tip: Apply any pesticides before Nutrimite™.
When first introducing predatory mites, Nutrimite™ can be distributed simultaneously with predatory mites using Entomatic™ Handheld – our new portable mite and insect dispenser. Engineered for precision, speed, and user comfort, it offers growers an efficient new tool for targeted biological applications. When applying Nutrimite™ after the first mite introduction, we recommend using our Makita adaptor.
Containing pollen collected from uncultivated plants, Nutrimite™ is residue-free, doesn’t interfere with pollination and poses minimal allergy risk.
