EcoPhage, a leader in the development and commercialization of sustainable phage-based biopesticides for bacterial plant diseases, today announced that it has received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval for GoldenEco®, a phage-based biopesticide developed to address bacterial diseases in tomatoes and peppers caused by Xanthomonas and Pseudomonas.
Bacterial diseases remain a significant challenge for tomato and pepper growers, with conventional disease-management programs often relying on chemical and metal-based treatments. Increasing regulatory scrutiny, environmental considerations, resistance development, and growing demand for more sustainable agricultural practices are driving the search for effective biological alternatives.
GoldenEco® is based on EcoPhage’s proprietary bacteriophage technology, harnessing naturally occurring phages that specifically target bacterial pathogens.
