Verdesian Life Sciences’ Phree-uP® Now Available for Distribution in Canadian Market
Dual-Action Phosphorus Efficiency Technology Brings Proven U.S. Performance and ROI to Canadian Growers and Retailers
CARY, N.C. — July 21, 2026
Verdesian Life Sciences (“Verdesian”), a global leader in Nutrient Use Efficiency (“NUE”) technologies, announced on July 21, 2026, that its Phree-uP® product is now registered and available for distribution in Canada. Building on a proven track record across the United States, Phree-uP® brings its dual-action phosphorus-efficiency technology to Canadian growers and retailers to help maximize fertilizer investments by improving phosphorus availability and uptake.
Tackling Phosphorus Fixation
In many soils, up to 75% of applied phosphorus becomes tied up and unavailable to plants shortly after application. Phree-uP® addresses this challenge by protecting newly applied phosphorus from fixation while simultaneously releasing phosphorus already bound in the soil, ensuring growers get a higher return on every fertilizer dollar.
Proprietary XCHAIN™ Technology
Powered by Verdesian’s proprietary XCHAIN™ technology and a novel biostimulant, Phree-uP® targets the chemical and biological barriers limiting soil phosphorus:
- XCHAIN™ Action: Attracts soil cations such as calcium, magnesium, aluminum, and iron to reduce phosphorus fixation.
- Biostimulant Support: Stimulates microbial activity and phosphorus mineralization to extend nutrient availability throughout the growing season.
Proven Field Performance
Across 66 U.S. field trial sites from 2021 to 2025, Phree-uP® increased yields by an average of 8.8% across cherry, corn, cotton, peanut, and potato production. Compatible with both granular and liquid phosphate fertilizers, it can be applied pre-plant, at planting, or in-season.
“As fertilizer costs continue to put pressure on growers’ profitability, maximizing the value of every nutrient investment has never been more important,” said Clare Doyle, Chief Executive Officer at Verdesian Life Sciences.
