Crystal Crop Protection and Corteva join hands to drive innovation and sustainable growth
Collaboration and Supply Agreement Combines Advanced Technical Actives with Domestic Manufacturing and Formulation Systems
To insulate Indian agricultural corridors against expanding weed resistance and intense sucking pest pressure, Crystal Crop Protection and Corteva join hands to drive innovation and sustainable growth. Announced on July 6, 2026, the strategic collaboration and supply agreement sets up a co-development framework targeting India’s vast rice (~48 million hectares), cotton (~13 million hectares), and high-value horticultural sectors. Under the pact, global pure-play leader Corteva will grant localized access to its technical-grade active ingredients. In turn, domestic innovator Crystal Crop Protection will direct advanced formulation, industrial manufacturing, and regional distribution across its extensive retail supply lanes, delivering science-backed, cost-effective pest management tools tailored to local climatic variations.
NEW DELHI, INDIA — July 06, 2026 — Crystal Crop Protection Limited (“Crystal Crop Protection”), a premier research-driven agriculture input company, and Corteva, a global pure-play agriculture company that combines industry-leading innovation, high-touch customer engagement and operational execution, have entered into a collaboration and supply agreement to develop and commercialize new formulations and mixtures.
Under this collaboration, both Crystal Crop Protection and Corteva will work together to develop, manufacture and sell in India relevant crop protection products. While Corteva will provide access to technical grade active ingredients, Crystal will develop, formulate, manufacture and sell them in India.
“We are pleased to collaborate with Corteva in developing new formulations and mixtures. This collaboration will help accelerate the availability of effective and farmer-centric solutions that support growers in managing key pest and weed challenges,” said Ankur Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Crystal Crop Protection.
Today, India cultivates approximately 48 million hectares of rice and over 13 million hectares of cotton, along with significant acreage under horticultural crops such as chilli, tomato, brinjal, okra, and pomegranate, amongst other crops. These crops are frequently affected by sucking pests, caterpillar pests, mites and diverse weed flora, resulting in severe yield losses and reduced farm profitability.
The country’s varied climate and growing conditions therefore make crop protection especially important for farmers. From shifting weather patterns to high pest and weed pressure across different regions, farmers need solutions that are reliable, safe, cost-effective and suited to local conditions. Science-backed innovations and advanced technologies can play a key role in helping farmers protect their crops, improve productivity and support more sustainable agriculture.
“This collaboration reflects Corteva’s commitment to advancing science-led innovation that addresses the evolving needs of Indian agriculture. By bringing together complementary strengths in technology, product development and market execution, we aim to deliver effective crop protection solutions that help farmers manage key pest and weed challenges, improve productivity and build more resilient farming systems,” said Subroto Geed, President – South Asia, Corteva.
Crystal Crop Protection is one of India’s leading agrochemical innovators demonstrating strong capabilities in Intellectual Property creation while Corteva’s farmer-first approach ensures that agricultural communities can build resilience, safeguard their land and meet the rising demand all while nurturing the soil for generations to come. This agreement between Crystal Crop Protection and Corteva reaffirms the commitment of both organizations to advancing agricultural innovation and supporting the long-term success of Indian farmers.

Strategic Market Context
The strategic alliance between a global discovery powerhouse and a leading domestic manufacturer underscores a persistent macro trend in South Asian agribusiness, where multinational chemical entities rely on localized formulation assets to drive deep market penetration. As changing monsoon dynamics trigger unexpected pest resistance across broadacre crops, the supply chain is prioritizing flexible tank-mixes and targeted molecular combinations. This operational scaling runs parallel to significant global input developments, such as Rovensa Next securing exclusive U.S. distribution rights for Novonesis plant health solutions to optimize multi-crop broadacre delivery, and regional technology deployments like Kisaan Parivar partnering with RBL Bank and Carnot Technologies to test AI-driven precision and trade finance models within regional Indian farming clusters.
