Sumitomo Biorational Company LLC, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical Company Ltd., celebrated its official launch with a major inauguration event in Libertyville, Illinois. The company officially began operations on April 1, unifying Valent BioSciences LLC, MGK, and Valent North America LLC into a collaborative organization designed to accelerate innovation in biorational and botanical technologies.
Sumitomo Biorational serves as the Global Center of Excellence for Biorational Innovation, focusing on sustainable solutions derived from microbials and botanicals. The launch positions the organization to lead in technologies that create lasting value for growers and communities worldwide.

The company operates through three core divisions to drive targeted growth:
- ✓ AgroSolutions Division: Led by Salman Mir, advancing solutions for agriculture.
- ✓ Environmental Health Division: Led by Steve Gullickson, supporting environmental health markets including the MGK business.
- ✓ Public Health and Forest Health Division: Led by Jason Clark, protecting public health and forest ecosystems.
Valent U.S.A. LLC continues to operate separately, focusing on regional sales and marketing in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. For customers in North America and Africa, the Public Health and Forest Health Division will continue under the same representing brands for regional marketing.
