Victor, New York — March 2026

BioWorks today announced the appointment of Chris Rose as Interim General Manager, marking the beginning of a new phase focused on acceleration, disciplined execution, and sales expansion. Founded in 1993, BioWorks has built a strong legacy under the leadership of Bill Foster. As part of a planned leadership transition, Rose will now take the helm.

Chris Rose, a biologist by training, has been with BioWorks since 2013, holding leadership roles across Operations, R&D, and Marketing. “This is not a reset. It is an acceleration,” said Rose. “Our strategy remains clear. Our responsibility now is to execute it effectively… We will start with revenue growth and portfolio expansion, while ensuring our operations scale efficiently as we move forward.”

Growth Strategy & Strategic Priorities:
  • Market Expansion: Strengthening leadership in horticulture and expanding into open-field specialty crops (grapes, almonds, berries).
  • Global Export: Beginning the export of Trichoderma production from its Victor, NY facility to Brazil and Europe.
  • Technology Integration: Leveraging proprietary biological technologies from BIOTROP in the U.S. market.
  • National Coverage: Maximizing and expanding sales coverage across the United States.

“Today we initiate an important new phase – a phase built on a legacy to honor and an acceleration to execute,” said Jonas Hipólito, President of BIOTROP. “To unlock the next level of value, we sought leadership capable of elevating the business with speed, energy, and creativity. We found those qualities within the company.”

In 2023, BioWorks became part of the BioFirst Group, a global leader in biological solutions with approximately €500 million in annual revenue. In early 2026, BioWorks transitioned under the management of BIOTROP, playing a strategic role in supporting its growth and innovation roadmap.

Bill Foster will remain closely connected to the company during the transition period until the end of May, ensuring continuity and alignment. BioWorks plans to aggressively expand its portfolio in 2026 with innovative crop protection products and 100% natural biostimulants.
