Empowering Women Leaders: Revolutionizing Agriculture

Driving Sustainability for Future Generations

Architects of Progress
In the vast fields of agriculture, where innovation meets the earth’s unyielding demands, women have long been the unsung architects of progress. As CEO of Invaio Sciences—a company dedicated to accelerating nature-positive agriculture through precision biotechnologies—I am profoundly aware of the pivotal role women play in shaping a sustainable future.

Our industry faces unprecedented challenges: climate change, resource scarcity, and the imperative to feed a growing global population. Yet women leaders are stepping forward with fresh perspectives, resilience, and ingenuity to turn these obstacles into opportunities. Today, I celebrate the contributions of women in agriculture and reflect on how their leadership drives sustainability.

My own journey reflects the determination and balance many women in the industry navigate. After more than two decades at FMC Corporation in various leadership roles across agricultural solutions, health, nutrition, and international markets, I led Certis Biologicals as President and CEO, advancing biological crop protection and sustainable practices.

Precision Technology at Scale

I joined Invaio just under two years ago, in April 2024, to help scale groundbreaking technologies, such as our Trecise™ delivery system and Citrus Health™ solution. These innovations deliver targeted, nature-inspired protection that minimizes pesticide use, conserves resources, and promotes healthier soils—proving that profitability and planetary health can coexist.

Balancing a high-impact career while raising three children has taught me the value of empathy, prioritization, and perseverance—qualities that strengthen leadership in sustainability-focused roles. Women often bring these strengths to agriculture, integrating environmental, social, and economic considerations in ways that foster resilient systems.

“Diverse teams with strong female representation consistently drive greater innovation and resilience—essential for addressing agriculture’s pressing challenges.”

A Legacy of Leadership

Harriet Williams Russell Strong: Revolutionized water management in the 19th century with patented irrigation systems for arid lands.
Vandana Shiva: Champions seed sovereignty and agroecology to protect biodiversity.
Agnes Kalibata: Advances climate-resilient crops and inclusive value chains across Africa.
Pam Marrone: Pioneered non-toxic biopesticides that reduce chemical reliance and nurture ecosystems.

The path forward is clear: amplify women’s voices in agriculture to accelerate sustainable transformation. This means investing in education, mentorship, and equitable opportunities in AgTech, policy, and on-farm leadership. Governments, corporations, and communities must prioritize initiatives that break down barriers and celebrate female contributions.

Sustainability in agriculture is about people as much as technology or policy. Women, with our proven track record of nurturing growth in every sense, are uniquely positioned to lead this vital change. Let us cultivate a future where every field flourishes, guided by the wisdom and vision of women leaders.
