PASCO, Wash. (AgPR) Oct. 6, 2025Ecorobotix has reached a new milestone with the launch of its 2026 crop algorithms. For the first time, an Ultra-High Precision (UHP) sprayer enables non-selective herbicides to be used in vegetable farming — a breakthrough that transforms weeding practices by reducing manual labor, increasing profitability, and providing a sustainable solution to the economic and environmental challenges facing growers.

New Algorithms Now Available
Launching today for pre-orders and available starting in March 2026, the new algorithms open up unprecedented opportunities for vegetable farming, particularly for broccoli, cauliflower, and other cabbage varieties. They also introduce precision thinning for lettuce and broccoli, a capability already popular in North America. This feature allows growers to significantly reduce manual labor while achieving more consistent crops and better yields.

Volunteer Potatoes: A Key Issue for Growers
Following promising results in onion and chicory crops, the new Volunteer Potato algorithm is now available for carrots. Volunteer potato sprouts present a major challenge in vegetable farming — traditional chemical methods cannot remove them without damaging the crop, forcing farmers to rely on manual removal. Ecorobotix’s new algorithm replaces this labor-intensive process with AI-powered targeted and precise treatment, providing an efficient and sustainable alternative.

Towards Even Finer Differentiation of Weeds
The Plant-by-Plant™ artificial intelligence (AI) developed by Ecorobotix now achieves even greater refinement in plant detection. Beyond distinguishing between crops and weeds, it can now identify and classify monocots and dicots within crop systems. This advanced capability is available for a wide range of crops including carrots, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbages, onions, green beans, spinach, chicory, sugar beet, and canola. These improvements give producers unprecedented control over weed management, optimizing each spray application while reducing inputs.

A Major Agronomic Breakthrough for Vegetable Farming
Ecorobotix’s latest innovations mark a turning point for vegetable growers worldwide — enabling massive reductions in manual weeding, direct improvements in farm profitability, and effective solutions amid growing restrictions on plant protection product use. These advancements support both environmental sustainability and economic resilience in modern agriculture.

Upcoming Algorithms for 2026
Ecorobotix also announced a new series of algorithms currently under development, which will be available free of charge during their launch phase. These include detection and treatment capabilities for leeks, garlic, celery, potatoes, and ragwort in grasslands. This initiative allows producers to test new Plant-by-Plant™ advancements early and extend ARA’s precision technology to additional crops and use cases.
