Syngenta Brazil launches SEEKER® fungicide for soybean and wheat
Date: 09 September 2025
Overview: Syngenta has introduced SEEKER® in Brazil, a new systemic fungicide based on the active ingredient fenpropidin (piperidine class), formulated as an Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) at 750 g/L. The product is registered under Authorization No. 31525 in Brazil and is positioned for robust disease management in soybean and wheat programs.
Mode of Action & Class: Fenpropidin is a sterol biosynthesis inhibitor (SBI) in the piperidine chemical class, delivering strong protective and curative activity as part of integrated disease-control strategies.
Target Crops & Key Diseases:
- Soybean: High efficacy against Asian soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) and Cercospora spp.; indicated for the final applications (grain-fill window) to help keep canopies clean through to harvest.
- Wheat: Recommended for powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici), a disease that can cause significant yield impact under conducive conditions.
Positioning & Program Fit: SEEKER® is designed to complement rotation and mixture strategies, helping manage resistance while reinforcing late-season protection in soybean and providing early-to-mid program control in wheat where mildew pressure is persistent.
Regulatory & Technical Details (Brazil):
