The Gates Foundation invests in Puna Bio — marking its first-ever investment in an Argentine startup

We’re incredibly proud to announce our partnership with the Gates Foundation, a significant milestone in our mission to strengthen food security on a global scale. This investment represents not only a strong validation of our science but also a powerful step forward in reaching smallholder farmers across underserved regions.

With this support, Puna Bio will accelerate the development of next-generation biofertilizers, tailor our existing biological technologies for the unique needs of African smallholder farmers, and further promote sustainable innovation in agriculture across the world

“We believe this partnership is deeply aligned with Puna Bio’s mission,” says Franco Martínez Levis, our CEO and co-founder. “Our science-backed biological inputs, already in use in South America, can boost crop yields in a reliable and cost-effective manner, even in challenging weather conditions. By expanding our efforts to Africa, we aim to scale our impact, improve lives, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of global agriculture.”

This moment would not have been possible without the dedication of our world-class team and the continuous support from strategic partners who share our belief in the future of sustainable agriculture.

We’re just getting started. The journey to a more resilient and equitable agricultural future continues—with science, purpose, and collaboration at the core.
