Submission Period Open for Events at Embrapa’s AgriZone During COP30
The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) has officially launched a public call for proposals to select events and initiatives to be showcased at AgriZone – House of Sustainable Agriculture, during the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30)November 10 to 21 in Belém, Pará, Brazil.
Interested parties can submit proposals from May 26 to June 23. The selected proposals will be announced on July 14. Submissions must be made through a specific online form, and queries can be directed to eventos.agrizone@embrapa.br.
AgriZone, located in the area of Embrapa Eastern Amazon, will serve as an inclusive space for dialogue and collaboration on sustainable agriculture and food security in the face of climate change. The initiative aims to bring together diverse stakeholders to exchange experiences, share knowledge, and discuss practical solutions aligned with the goals of sustainable development and climate resilience.
According to Ana Euler, Embrapa’s Executive Director of Innovation, Business and Technology Transfer, the goal of AgriZone is to promote cooperation networks — both technical-scientific and socio-technical — on a national and international scale. The space will act as a bridge connecting actors across agriculture, food systems, and climate sectors.
Who Can Submit Proposals?
- Governments and intergovernmental organizations
- National and international NGOs
- Financial institutions and philanthropic organizations
- Academic institutions and the scientific community
- Private sector entities
- Civil society and indigenous, quilombola, riverine, and traditional communities
- Local and international stakeholders in agriculture and climate action
- Embrapa’s Central and Decentralized Units (CUs and DUs)
Participation is free of charge and open to all entities whose initiatives align with the AgriZone mission.
Event Themes and Structure
Proposals must fall under one of the 71 topics defined in the AgriZone Thematic Framework, which consists of nine overarching themes – six main and three transversal – all anchored in the core focus of Sustainable Agriculture. These themes were designed based on past COP outcomes and future climate-agriculture discourse needs.
Organizing Committee
A dedicated committee formed by Embrapa will oversee the review and approval of proposals and will coordinate the final AgriZone program in preparation for COP30.
