6th BioAgTech World Congress & Expo 2025 Concludes with Resounding Success in New Delhi, Igniting a Global Movement for Sustainable Agriculture

New Delhi, April 25, 2025 — The 6th BioAgTech World Congress & Expo 2025, organized by Global BioAg Linkages (GBL) in collaboration with our strategic knowledge partners ICAR (India), Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MHU, India), Agrinnovate India Limited (India), and ICRISAT (India) concluded successfully at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, New Delhi. Over 400 delegates from more than 30 countries gathered to drive biological innovations, strengthen sustainable farming, and accelerate global regulatory harmonization.

Day 1: A Grand Opening of Global Vision and Purpose

April 23 opened with a ceremonial inauguration led by Dr. Suresh Prabhu (Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, India), joined by Dr. Himanshu Pathak (Director General, ICRISAT; Former DG, ICAR, India), Dr. S.K. Malhotra (Vice Chancellor, Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, India), Dr. Carlos Goulart (Secretary of Agricultural Defense, MAPA, Brazil), Mr. Giuseppe Natale (Founder, Vedalia, Italy), Mr. Antonio Zem (Board Member, BioFirst, Brazil), and Mr. A.G. Kawamura (Former Secretary of Agriculture, California, USA).
The lighting of the ceremonial lamp symbolized global solidarity for food security and climate resilience.
The inauguration also announced the launch of the Valencia Disaster Relief Fund, underscoring the Congress’s commitment to supporting farmers impacted by climate disasters.

ICAR-led Workshop

The ICAR-led workshop chaired by Dr. Suresh K Malhotra spotlighted India’s leadership role in the global sustainable agriculture movement.
“Some set system is there, now we have biostimulants in one of the slides, now we have the guidelines available with us, some kind of amendments have been made. We are having a set regulatory system.”
Dr. Carlos Goulart (Secretary of Agricultural Defense, MAPA, Brazil) shared Brazil’s successful implementation of the Bioinputs Law, emphasizing government support for biological alternatives. Dr. A.K. Saxena (Former Director, ICAR-NBAIM, India) updated participants on India’s progressive biostimulant regulations, while Mr. Karel Bolckmans (President, IBMA, Belgium) highlighted the urgent need for global regulatory harmonization. Discussions on innovation and commercialization featured insights from Dr. Vishwanathan (Joint Director, IARI, India), Ryan Bond (Vice President, Innovation, Business Development, and Agronomy, Koch Agronomic Services, USA), Dr. T. Damodaran (Director, CISH-ICAR, India), and Mr. Giuseppe Natale (Founder, Vedalia, Italy), who collectively stressed the importance of translating research into field-ready, farmer-accessible solutions.

Technical Sessions:

Session 1, titled “Integrating BioAgTech for Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture,” chaired by Mr. Roger Tripathi (Founder & CEO, Global BioAg Linkages, USA), explored successful models of sustainable farming. Speakers including Mr. Martin Andermatt (Founder, Andermatt Group, Switzerland), Mr. Juzar Khorakiwala (Chairman and Managing Director, Biostadt India Limited, India), Mr. Ashish Dobhal (CEO, UPL SAS, India), and Mr. A.G. Kawamura (Former Secretary of Agriculture, California, USA) shared inspiring strategies on restoring soil health, promoting regenerative practices, and positioning farmers at the center of agricultural innovation.
Dr. Suresh Prabhu (Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament, India) emphasized the crucial need to adopt better practices in agriculture and dairy sectors, noting that they serve as vital sources of livelihood and nutrition for millions.We should use better practices to do dairy as it’s the main source of protein, that’s the main source of livelihood to many people but we can do in proper way of making sure to use a better agriculture practices. This is the biggest opportunity for us to bring better technology and use global knowledge. That’s why I congratulated roger Tripathi , his exactly aim of organising the event to connect different parts of the world
Moreover, Mr. A.G. Kawamura (Former Secretary of Agriculture, California, USA) emphasized the critical role of agriculture as a catalyst for achieving the interconnected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), stating, “Agriculture must play a primary role in achieving the world’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); it is the catalyst for a multi-benefit platform that delivers interconnected solutions for humanity.”

In Session 2, “Streamlining and Harmonizing Global BioAg Regulations,” chaired by Dr. Suresh K Malhotra, VC MHU and Dr. Praveen Malik, CEO of Agrinnovate regulators and industry leaders discussed pathways for global harmonization. Dr. Carlos Goulart (MAPA, Brazil) described Brazil’s expedited regulatory pathways, while Ms. Theodora Nikolakopoulou and Mr. Klaus Berend (European Commission, EU) elaborated on EU’s smart regulation strategies. Mr. Jose Carvalho (EMEA Regulatory Affairs Director, Certis Biologicals, Europe), Mr. KRK Reddy (President, BIPA, India), and Dr. Piyatida Pukclai (Managing Director, Dr. Knoell Consult Thailand, Thailand) contributed insights into accelerating the registration of biological inputs globally. Mr. A.G. Kawamura reflected, “Policy, science, and soil must work in symbiosis to ensure the future of regenerative agriculture.’’
Global BioAgTech Sustainable Grower Awards
The day concluded with the prestigious Global BioAgTech Sustainable Grower Awards. Dr. Howard-Yana Shapiro (Senior Fellow, University of California, Davis; Former Chief Agricultural Officer, Mars, Inc., USA) was recognized for his lifelong dedication to biodiversity and food security. Mr. Sartaj Khan (Progressive Farmer, India) was honored for his outstanding work in transforming his farmland through biological practices and spreading sustainable farming knowledge among rural communities. ”

Day 2: Business Day with Strategic Stakeholders and Global Recognition

April 24 began with two powerful workshops aimed at aligning regulatory pathways and catalyzing startup investment. In Workshop 1, “Role of Industry Associations in Regulatory Harmonization,” chaired by Mr. Vipin Saini (Chief Executive Officer, BASAI, India), leading voices such as Dr. KRK Reddy (President, BIPA, India), Mr. Karel Bolckmans (President, IBMA, Belgium) and Mr. Keith Jones (Executive Director, BPIA, USA) highlighted the critical role associations must play in creating agile, science-based regulatory frameworks for bio-inputs across geographies. Discussions emphasized the need for collaborative frameworks that accelerate access to sustainable agricultural solutions globally. Simultaneously, Workshop 2, titled “Investors and Startups Fundraising: Must-Win Battles, Matchmaking, and Pitching Practice,” was moderated by Mr. Giuseppe Natale (Founder, Vedalia, Italy) and energized by the participation of leading investors. Speakers included Mr. Antonio Zem (President, Biotrop, Brazil), Mr. Rajesh Srivastava (Chairman, Rabo/Ferns Equity Advisors, India), Mr. Scott Chung (Asia Lead, Tikehau Capital, Singapore), Mr. Anil Rohra (Business Head, UPL NPP, India), and Mr. Benoit Hartman (Global Head, Bayer Biologicals, Europe). Startups engaged in live pitch rounds, receiving real-time strategic feedback from investors, with discussions centering on scaling innovations that empower farmers and build resilient agricultural systems.
Strategic Roundtables:
Session 3 unfolded with three impactful roundtables spotlighting leadership, equity, and global market strategies in BioAgTech.
The “Women Leaders and Entrepreneurs Roundtable,” moderated by Ms. Sandeepa Kanitkar (Managing Director, Kan Biosys, India), was a dynamic dialogue addressing barriers to women’s leadership and charting a roadmap for greater inclusivity. Panelists included Ms. Roberta Vinciguerra (Chief Operating Officer, Vedalia, Italy), Ms. Narjisse Mahmoudi (CEO, Nutribiotek – OCP, Morocco), Ms. Liria Sayuri Hosoe (UPL NPP, Brazil), and Ms. Usha Zehr (Chairperson and Managing Director, GrowIndigo, India), who shared journeys of resilience and called for systemic reforms to support female leaders in BioAgTech.
The “MNC Leaders Roundtable,” chaired by Mr. Roger Tripathi (Founder & CEO, Global BioAg Linkages, USA), convened key global players including Ms. Emilie Seguret (Head of Sustainability Initiatives, UPL NPP, Europe), Mr. Sanjay Tokala (Head of Biologicals, Syngenta, India), Mr. Simon Wiebusch (Chief Operating Officer, Bayer Crop Science, India), Mr. Prameet Kamat (APAC Lead, Corteva Biologicals, Singapore), and Mr. Carlos Ledó (CEO, Veganic Nature, Spain). Discussions focused on scaling biological products through collaborative ecosystems, addressing regulatory hurdles, and mainstreaming biologicals into conventional agriculture systems.
The “CEO Roundtable,” moderated by Ms. Amy O’Shea (CEO, Invaio Sciences, USA), brought together visionary business leaders including Mr. Adrian Ferrero (Co-Founder and CEO, Biome Makers, Spain), Mr. Carlos Forster (CEO, AlgaEnergy, Spain), Mr. Augusto Menesses (Global Commercial Head, Sylvan Bio, USA), Mr. Mritunjay Kumar (Senior Vice President, PI Industries, India), and Mr. Rajat Chatterjee (Strategic Business Leader, Corteva India), to explore the intersection of leadership, innovation, and market resilience in scaling BioAg enterprises worldwide.
Later sessions, led by Mr. Giuseppe Natale and Dr. Adrian Percy, explored BioAg investment outlooks, symbiotic stakeholder engagement, and new market opportunities. Key panelists included Mr. Nimish Gangrade (Krishak Jagat), Mr. Anderson Galvão (Celeres), Mr. AG Kawamura (Landless Farmer, USA), Mr. Huzefa Khorakiwala (Biostadt India), and Mr. Sartaaj Khan.
Symbiotic Stakeholder Engagement
Session 4, “Symbiotic Stakeholder Engagement for BioAgTech Growth,” chaired by Dr. Adrian Percy (Executive Director, NC Plant Sciences Initiative, USA), transitioned towards deepening collaborations among stakeholders in the BioAg ecosystem. The Investor Roundtable opened with future-focused insights from Mr. Giuseppe Natale (Vedalia), followed by strategic perspectives from Mr. Nimish Gangrade (CEO, Krishak Jagat, India), Mr. Anderson Galvão (Founder, Celeres, Brazil), Mr. AG Kawamura ( Farmer and Former Secretary of Agriculture, California, USA), Mr. Huzefa Khorakiwala (Managing Director, Biostadt India Ltd., India), and Mr. Sartaaj Khan (Progressive Farmer, India).
Panelists emphasized the power of symbiotic engagement connecting industry, institutions, media, and farmers to foster grassroots innovation, drive scalable impact, and create resilient food systems for the future. Discussions during the Fireside Chat, featuring Mr. Ravi Agrawal (Founder, Genecrest), Mr. Shashank Kumar (Co-Founder, DeHaat), and Mr. Agam Khare (Founder and CEO, Absolute Ag), explored how technology, farmer empowerment, and data-driven models are reshaping the landscape of agricultural entrepreneurship.

Gala Dinner and Global BioAgTech Awards
The evening transitioned into the Gala Dinner, a celebration of innovation, resilience, and leadership, enriched with the colorful vibrancy of Rajasthani folk performances. Outstanding contributors to global BioAgTech transformation were honored:

Day 3: Farmer-Centric Innovations, Global Partnerships, and Grand Celebration

Morning workshops and MWONP Launch

April 25 opened with an inspiring momentum around farmer prosperity and global agricultural transformation. Workshop 1 featured the global launch of two landmark initiatives — the “Millionaire Farmer of India (MFOI)” and “Make World Organic, Natural & Profitable (MWONP)” programs. In a momentous milestone, Workshop 1 also witnessed the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Krishi Jagran and Global BioAg Linkages (GBL) to advance farmer-centric initiatives and drive grassroots transformation in sustainable agriculture. Led by Mr. M.C. Dominic (Editor-in-Chief, Krishi Jagran, India), Dr. Ajay Ranka (Managing Director, Zydex Industries, India), Mr. Roger Tripathi (Founder & CEO, Global BioAg Linkages, USA), and Mr. A.G. Kawamura (Former Secretary of Agriculture, California, USA), the session outlined how profitability and sustainability can go hand-in-hand in reshaping India’s organic farming landscape. The leaders emphasized the urgent need to reposition organic and natural farming not just as an ecological choice, but as a commercially viable career path for Indian farmers.
Simultaneously, Workshop 2 titled “Soil-Plant-Human Health Interconnections” brought together thought leaders like Dr. Venkatesh Devanur (Founder, Agrilife, India), Dr. Ajay Ranka (Managing Director, Zydex Industries, India), Mr. Karel Bolckmans (Board Member, BioFirst, Belgium), Mr. R.G. Discussions revolved around understanding soil microbiome dynamics and how restoring soil health positively impacts crop productivity, human nutrition, and planetary well-being. Key speakers included Adrian Percy himself presenting NC State’s research thrusts, Christopher Do (Chief Operating Officer, BSB Nanotechnology, Vietnam) explaining nanotech-enabled nutrient delivery, Dr. Markandeya Gorantla (Founder, ATGC Biotech Pvt. Ltd., India) discussing microbial interventions for resilience, Carlos Ledó (CEO, Veganic Nature, Spain) introducing sustainable biopesticide platforms, and Adrian Ferrero (Biome Makers, Spain) showcasing the power of AI and data science in microbiome analysis.

Appreciation Reception and Awards

The Congress concluded with a grand Appreciation Reception and Awards Ceremony, celebrating innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence. The winners of the Global BioAgTech Pioneering Innovation Awards 2025 were:
