Cultiva has received official registration for Parka® as a biostimulant under the European Union (EU) fertilizer regulation. This registration — finalized on March 31, 2025 — marks a significant milestone for Cultiva, as it expands access to this innovative plant health solution for growers across the EU.

The registration for Parka was granted under the Product Function Category (PFC) 6 (B) (non-microbial plant biostimulant), according to EU regulation. This new certification ensures specialty crop growers across the EU have access to this technology to help increase crop resilience and productivity.

Parka, a crop cuticle supplement, is registered for use in woody perennial crops including apples, cherries, citrus, grapes, nut crops, and stone fruits. It is designed to improve a plant’s tolerance to abiotic stressors such as heat, moisture, and wind, which can significantly impact crop health and yield potential.

Powered by SureSeal® technology, Parka features a patented phospholipid formulation with a novel mode of action that strengthens the fruit and leaf cuticles. By supplementing the cuticle, Parka helps protect plants against environmental stress, reduce microfractures which lead to cracking, and provide sunburn protection, resulting in overall higher fruit quality and marketable yields.

“During the EU’s evaluation process, Parka demonstrated and proved to meet the rigorous safety and efficacy standards set by the EU’s fertilizer regulation,” said Luis Hernandez, CEO at Cultiva. “This registration represents an important step in providing European growers with the safe and effective solutions they need to adapt to evolving environmental stressors, enhance crop health and maximize the full potential of their operation.”

The EU certification of Parka reflects Cultiva’s commitment to providing innovative, science-driven solutions that help growers meet the challenges of modern agriculture.
