REGULATORY FRAMEWORK FOR BIOLOGICALS IN THE EU

This module provides a deeper understanding of the regulatory framework concerning placing plant protection products of biological origin on the EU market. This includes insights into what set of data is required to fulfil dossiers for approving biological active substances (in particular micro-organisms) and authorising plant protection products containing them.

Comprehend how a biological active substance reaches the EU market—from dossier preparation, through its assessment and decision-making process.

MYCORRHIZAE AND SOIL HEALTH REGENERATION 101
SOIL, PLANT TO HUMAN HEALTH
Instructors: Dr. Venkatesh Devanur and Pablo Ibort Pereda

This module provides a deeper understanding of the fundamental principles of the key role of mycorrhizal fungi in soil and plant-associated microbiomes, insights into cutting-edge technologies to produce and optimize mycorrhizal solutions for various agricultural systems, and practical knowledge of applying mycorrhiza as well as microbial consortia to enhance crop and soil health.

It also offers a holistic understanding of one health—a circular flow from soil to plants, and people. The module delivers advanced expertise in mycorrhizal and microbial consortia management and application, empowering you to implement biosolutions in agriculture for enhanced soil, plant, and human health.

IPM WITH BENEFICIALS AND BIOLOGICALS 101
Instructors: Dr. Neal WardIng and Francisco Lozano-Rubio

The ever-increasing need for alternatives to synthetic pesticides means knowledge of biological solutions and a holistic approach to plant health is more important than ever.

This module offers learners a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of making integrated pest management (IPM) programmes work, with a focus on biological control of the main pests encountered in horticulture and agriculture. It also presents the role of technology in IPM and emerging threats to crop health.

Upon completion, learners will fully understand the concept of IPM and be fully prepared to implement biological control programmes against the most damaging insect and mite pests encountered.
