Sound Agriculture, a leading agtech company, has announced the spinout of its groundbreaking plant epigenetics platform, alongside a $25 million extension of its Series D funding round. The financing, co-led by BMO Impact Investment Fund and S2G Ventures, with participation from Leaps by Bayer, Syngenta Ventures, and Fall Line Capital, will bolster Sound’s path to profitability and accelerate the launch of bioinspired nutrient efficiency solutions.

The company’s innovative products, SOURCE® and BLUEPRINT™, are redefining crop nutrition. SOURCE®, a patented signaling chemistry, and BLUEPRINT™, featuring premium arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), empower growers to enhance soil health, boost crop productivity, and promote climate-friendly farming. Having reached 2 million U.S. acres in just four years, Sound is scaling its portfolio across new geographies and products to drive greater impact.

“Sound has consistently demonstrated resilience and growth, standing out as a leader in sustainable agriculture,” said Marc Khouzami, Managing Director at BMO Impact Investment Fund. “The company’s focus on cutting-edge science and innovative models has delivered significant value for growers while addressing environmental challenges.”

Led by Chief Product Officer Eric Davidson, PhD, Sound’s research and development focus on improving the rootzone ecosystem. “Our expertise in chemical signaling technology has allowed us to create synergistic products that enhance nutrient delivery while reducing environmental impact,” Davidson said.

In 2024, Sound is accelerating market share growth and advancing sustainable practices with its Efficient Acre grower incentive program. With a robust portfolio and a commitment to innovation, Sound Agriculture continues to lead the charge toward healthier soils, thriving crops and a sustainable agricultural future.
