BioWorks Welcomes Glen Stevens, Ph.D., as Research and Development Associate — BioWorks has appointed Glen Stevens, Ph.D., to its R&D team to accelerate innovation in sustainable agriculture, drawing on his 20+ years in biological control, soil health, and integrated pest and disease management. Based at BioWorks’ fully equipped laboratory and greenhouse within the University of Florida’s Sid Martin Biotech Incubator, Dr. Stevens will design and execute efficacy trials against a broad spectrum of insect pests, plant pathogens, and abiotic stress challenges; optimize the performance of biostimulants and new biological-based formulations; and manage insect and pathogen colonies while overseeing greenhouse operations to ensure precision, biosafety, and research integrity. Collaborating closely with product development, technical services, and commercial teams, he will translate research findings into grower-ready solutions—from spray-program guidance and resistance-management protocols to field-demonstration playbooks—helping expand BioWorks’ portfolio of environmentally responsible crop protection and plant health products that improve yield, quality, and sustainability outcomes. His track record integrating biologicals into specialty and row-crop systems, combined with hands-on field experience and regulatory awareness, positions him to advance products that align with evolving standards and real-world farm operations, reinforcing BioWorks’ mission to deliver effective, science-driven innovations that support healthier crops, resilient soils, and long-term agricultural viability. Beyond his technical responsibilities, Dr. Stevens will play a role in identifying emerging trends in sustainable agriculture, evaluating potential research collaborations, and exploring novel application methods for BioWorks’ technologies. By leveraging data from field trials and grower feedback, he aims to refine formulations for maximum efficacy under diverse climatic and agronomic conditions, ensuring BioWorks’ solutions remain competitive and relevant in a rapidly changing market. His appointment reflects the company’s forward-looking strategy to strengthen its research capacity, expand its global reach, and deepen its contribution to regenerative and environmentally conscious farming practices. With his blend of scientific expertise, practical field knowledge, and commitment to innovation, Dr. Stevens will be pivotal in delivering products that meet the dual demands of agricultural productivity and ecological stewardship.
